We are a group of writers who are seriously dedicated to the process and content of our writing. Some of us work professionally as writers and also have different creative genres of writing that we are working on (novels, scripts, essays, memoirs, travel writing, and more). Others work in different professions but have writing projects they are deeply committed to. We encourage, inspire, critique each other, and also network. We meet at least once a month, so far on Saturday afternoons, for abou …
A few of us (well, two) aspiring science fiction/fantasy writers were looking for a serious critique and write-sharing group to join. We thought, hey, lots of people in Berkeley must love sci-fi...we just have to find them and get them in a cafe. The group is open to anyone who is writing in the genre or who enjoys it enough to read other people's writing and provide serious and supportive critique. What kind of writing? Screenplays, novels, short stories, YA...you name it. We share our writing …
Inviting writers in all genres, published or not, to share work and provide constructive feedback in an informal, supportive environment. The Writers Cafe is off to a great start. We're been meeting for two and a half months now. The group is currently full, however if you are interested, join up and send me an email. I'll contact you and give you an email address where you can send a writing sample -- either a chapter of your novel or a short story. If what you're doing is in sync with the group I'll put you on the waiting list and let you know where things are at with the group. The current group is excellent. All of the writer …
The Writers Cafe, which started in the fall of 2010, has been going strong for over a year and a half now. I am currently hoping to add two members to the group. If you are interested, join up and send me an email. I'll contact you and give you an email address where you can send a writing sample -- either a chapter of your novel or a short story. Please don't be intimidated by this request. It's not a about judging whether you're "good enough," but rather, we have a great group of writers and I …

This is an attempt to see how many people in San Francisco are as big fantasy novel lovers as I am and if they want to get together once or twice a month to do a book club. Some of my favorite authors are Tolkien, Eddings, Goodkind, Jordan, Butcher, Ann Marston, and my personal fantasy writer god is Guy Gavriel Kay. So, join up if you're interested. I'd love to schedule a first book club meeting sometime in mid February. Ideas for places to meet? A restaurant, coffee shop?
Meetup details are available only to members.

… Beth has written four fiction manuscripts (mostly science fiction and fantasy), and queried over three dozen agents and editors. Her query letters have resulted in requests for the full manuscript, personalized rejections, and the normal sort of writer's angst. Beth has also written several nonfiction book proposals for clients that have generated interest in the publishing industry. Beth has published, contributed to, and/or edited five books: Author, The Writer's Adventure Guide: 12 Stages to …

A monthly meetup to share portfolios, bounce ideas around, and get to know each other as creative individuals. Bring whatever you want to share! Finished work, concepts, sketches... Also feel free to bring your sketchbook -- as this is a meetup for drawing stuff, we intend to do some drawing. xD Bring something that says something interesting about you and what your art is about -- doesn't matter if it's not sequential art. Because there tends to be a revolving door of new and old faces at these …
